Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer for our Albuquerque, NM or Las Vegas, NV offices. Join the ESSP team focusing on protective relaying, power system studies, SCADA, and system protection to support client objectives.

The successful candidate will work across three‑phase power fundamentals in generation, substations, and transmission systems, travel to project sites as needed, and contribute to reports and safety practices while collaborating with a growing energy advisory group.

Qualifications

• BSEE from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3–5 years of design or device configuration experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and power systems.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform protective relaying studies and relay settings calculations.
• Conduct power system planning studies including load flow and stability analysis.
• Assist with design studies for grounding, insulation coordination and power quality.
• Configure RTU/SCADA communications and network paths; travel to project sites as needed.
• Write technical reports summarizing analysis findings and conclusions.
• Support project managers with risk assessment and planning.
