Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer for our Phoenix, AZ office, with consideration for candidates in San Diego, LA, or Sacramento. This role involves electrical studies, SCADA, and protection work within the ESSP team, contributing to power delivery and grid solutions.

The successful candidate will perform studies on power systems, provide technical analyses, generate reports, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • ABET‑accredited degree in electrical engineering.
  • 3–5 years of design or device configuration experience.
  • Understanding of three‑phase power and power system fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Commitment to safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and protection work.
  • Support planning studies, voltage stability, and contingencies.
  • Create and review technical reports and calculations.
  • Travel to project sites for testing and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with field staff and project managers.
  • Assist with risk assessment and design concepts.
