Job summary

WSP seeks an ESSP Electrical Engineer for its Phoenix, AZ office. Applicants in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Sacramento may be considered. You will join the ESSP team and contribute to electrical studies, SCADA and protection projects across conventional and renewable facilities.

The role requires a BSEE or ABET-accredited degree and 3–5 years of design or configuration experience, with travel to project sites expected. Relocation is not provided at this time.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of design or device configuration experience in electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles applied to permitting and project work.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and protection work for projects.
• Support power system planning studies and design activities.
• Develop technical analyses with calculations and sketches.
• Write technical reports summarizing findings and conclusions.
• Assist with risk identification, planning, and field coordination.
• Travel to project sites to test and commission systems.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and codes.
