Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer for our Phoenix, AZ office, with consideration for candidates in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Sacramento. You will work on electrical studies, SCADA, and protection within the ESSP team, contributing to a growing power practice.

The role involves design, analysis, reporting, and occasional site visits, aligning with three-phase power fundamentals and national standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited degree in electrical/related field.
  • 3–5 years design or device configuration experience.
  • Strong understanding of power systems and three-phase power.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgement for engineering decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-led, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and protection work.
  • Support a broad range of activities or specialize per project.
  • Prepare technical reports with calculations and sketches.
  • Assist with risk identification, planning, and field coordination.
  • Travel to sites to test, commission, and troubleshoot systems.
