Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join the Electric Power Division in a remote US-based role.

You will help design, program, and implement generator control switchgear systems, delivering automation solutions from concept through commissioning. In this role you will retrofit and deploy new systems, convert legacy PLC programs, and develop PLC/HMI applications while collaborating with CAD and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with PLC-based automation, HMIs, and DCS.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with dealers and factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission low- and medium-voltage generator control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs and develop PLC/HMI apps using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD to produce wiring/assembly drawings.
• Provide technical support to sales and product teams; train technicians as needed.
