Job summary

Stillpoint AEC is seeking an Electrical Engineer with current building electrical design experience within an MEP/AEC environment in the Philadelphia area. You will lead design work for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and related systems across diverse projects.

Responsibilities include load calculations, single-line diagrams, equipment sizing, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. PE licensure is preferred; EIT candidates will be considered as well.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Current electrical building systems design experience within an MEP consulting engineering, architectural engineering, or AEC consulting environment required.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and other building electrical systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; EIT candidates actively progressing toward PE licensure will also be considered.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, AGi32, Visual Lighting, or similar software preferred.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, energy codes, and applicable electrical/building codes.
• Experience preparing electrical engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, equipment sizing, and related electrical engineering analysis.
• Develop power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, lighting controls, and electrical equipment specifications.
• Perform electrical service and distribution design including transformers, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, generators, and related building electrical infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and applicable building and electrical design standards.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, technology, and other project disciplines.
• Support projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
• Provide project coordination, technical guidance, client interaction, and mentorship based on experience level.
