Job summary

Stantec's Buildings team in Philadelphia seeks an Electrical Engineer/Project Designer to deliver electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage designs for diverse markets. You will lead small projects under guidance, supervise junior staff, and interface with clients while ensuring code compliance and standards.

The role emphasizes Revit/AutoCAD design, calculations, field work, and collaboration with other disciplines.

Qualifications

Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas.
Solid knowledge of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems for built environments.
Experience in construction projects and/or knowledge of construction processes, including administration roles.
Understanding of project document production and relation between drawings and specs.
Ability to apply sustainable design principles and integrate with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

Create electrical design documentation using Revit/AutoCAD and guide junior staff.
Supervise staff to develop skills and career goals.
Lead design development through sketches, calculations, models, diagrams and other visuals.
Prepare and review site plans, floor plans, diagrams and details across project phases.
Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design intent compatibility.
Perform advanced electrical calculations and field reviews to support design documents.
Lead construction administration duties, review submittals, RFIs, and site observations.
Develop project-specific electrical system specifications and materials.
