Overview
Electrical Engineer needed in Philadelphia, PA
Design power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications plans including all associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash & fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design.
Prepare electrical construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings (in retail, office, multifamily residential, healthcare, and institutional market sectors).
Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
Ensure design is consistent with the overall vision, and design schedules are maintained; work closely with the client and other design team members, including owners, architects, contractors, and members of other disciplines.
Participate in the selection and specification of appropriate equipment for use in building systems.
Report writing and specification preparation.
Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in designing electrical systems for commercial/institutional building projects.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
Previous electrical design experience with an AE and/or MEP engineering consulting firm.
Strong fundamental understanding of the National Electric Code, and the International Building Codes.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
