Job summary

WSP is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings team in Dallas, TX, with an optional Austin, TX base. You will design electrical systems for diverse building types, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to quality control and project delivery.

The role emphasizes design, documentation, and collaboration with architects, mechanical and structural engineers, and clients, while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of electrical building systems design experience.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience with NEC and energy codes.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering design for new construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare construction documents including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, telecom, and low-voltage designs.
• Develop electrical calculations for load analysis, panel sizing, short circuit studies, voltage drop, and photometric analysis.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce and coordinate drawings.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architects and engineers.
• Participate in site visits and construction administration.
• Assist with technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
• Support project managers in schedules and budgets and deliverable quality.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Contribute to QA/QC reviews.
• Support business growth by building client relationships.
