Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to coordinate and deliver electrical design for federal facilities, including DoD contracts with agencies such as USACE and NAVFAC, as well as civilian agencies. The role emphasizes ownership of deliverables, leading a multi-disciplinary team, and ensuring quality on tight deadlines in a hybrid environment with regular office attendance.

The ideal candidate holds a BSEE, 5+ years of electrical design experience, PE registration, and REVIT proficiency,

Qualifications

• BSEE and at least 5 years of electrical design experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to communicate thoughts clearly in writing and speaking.
• Overseas and U.S. travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards
• Act as the Designer of Record (DOR) for electrical design projects including schedule, budget, delegation of work to junior staff, quality control and sealing/stamping construction drawings and specifications.
• Gather information, interview stakeholders, make studies, perform calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches as required
• Present findings and outcomes to clients and other stakeholders
• Perform high level tasks under minimal supervision using well-defined standards, procedures and codes
• Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research
• Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls
• Prepare load analysis for different stages of design; Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms
• Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including document management and processing RFI's and Change Orders
