Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for Starlink gateways and customer hardware to own end-to-end electrical system development. You will design, implement, and verify multi-node electronics for dishes, routers, and ground-based gateways, collaborating with silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-reliability hardware at scale.

You will lead complex system trades, component selection, and PCB layout, while supporting hardware through production

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
8+ years of professional experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
Master's degree preferred for advanced roles; strong life-cycle hardware development experience.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with satellites.
Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and test teams.
Lead system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, and PCB layout.
Support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight readiness.
Coordinate with adjacent disciplines to deliver integrated high-performance hardware.
Develop tools and methods to analyze data from orbit and lab tests to drive improvements.
Challenge assumptions and pursue simple, robust solutions for complex problems.
