Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for Gateways & Customer Hardware (Starlink) to own the electrical system design of Starlink user terminals and gateways. You will collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-reliability hardware at scale.

The role requires extensive experience in mixed-signal board design, FPGA/processor interfaces, power electronics, and verification for production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering is required.
• 8+ years of professional experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• Advanced degree (Master's) is preferred for senior specialist level.
• Experience with mixed-signal boards, processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, Serdes, DDR4, I2C, SPI, and power supplies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with satellites.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and production test teams.
• Lead system trades, requirements capture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and hardware bring-up.
