Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for Starlink gateways and customer hardware. You will own the electrical design of end-user dishes, routers, and gateways, ensuring reliability from concept through production and flight.

You will collaborate with silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ship high-performance hardware globally. You will manage trades, verification, and testing of complex electronics, with emphasis on mixed-signal boards, high-speed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
8+ years of professional experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
Experience in mixed-signal circuit boards with high-speed interfaces and power supply components.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with satellites.
Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and production test teams.
Drive system trades, requirements capture, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test of complex electrical designs.
Get hands-on and support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
Collaborate with adjacent engineering disciplines to deliver integrated hardware.
Drive continual improvements by building tools to analyze data from orbit and lab.
Challenge assumptions and seek simple, robust solutions.
