Job summary

SpaceX Bastrop, TX seeks a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for Gateways & Customer Hardware (Starlink). You will own the electrical system design for Starlink dishes, routers, and gateways, coordinating with software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams to bring hardware from concept to production.

You will lead trades, verification, and hardware bring-up while ensuring reliability in harsh environments for millions of users globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering and 8+ years designing circuits, electronics, or hardware.
• Ability to design, implement and verify complex electrical systems for customer hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with satellites.
• Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and production test teams.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, and testing of complex designs.
• Provide hands-on support through production, satellite integration, and flight.
• Collaborate with adjacent disciplines to deliver tightly integrated, high-performance hardware.
• Drive continuous improvements by building tools to analyze data from orbit and lab.
• Challenge assumptions and seek simple solutions to complex problems.
