Job summary

Cooper Electric Supply, LLC in Syracuse, NY is seeking a personable counter salesperson. You will greet walk-in customers, assist with orders, enter sales orders, pick items, and collect payments while delivering excellent service.

You'll maintain displays, reach monthly sales and gross margin targets, promote digital tools to customers, and multitask in a fast-paced retail/warehouse environment. Training provided; competitive hourly pay and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Sales experience and/or electrical knowledge preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and inter-personal communication skills.
• Strong mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and present solutions to a customer.
• Ability to operate computers and relevant computer software.
• Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet walk-in customers and assist with order and product selection.
• Enter sales orders and pick items from warehouse inventory.
• Prepare customer sales ticket and collect customer payment.
• Handle phone-in customers with pleasant and courteous etiquette.
• Maintain counter area displays clean, organized, and stocked with inventory.
• Reach monthly goals in sales and gross margin.
• Encourage the use of digital tools across customer base.
• Multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the day.
