Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is hiring an Electrical Controls Superintendent - Data Center in Baltimore to lead field operations on hyperscale data center projects. The role is site‑based, coordinating trade contractors, safety, scheduling, and logistics with a focus on delivering on schedule and within budget.

You will work with an experienced team, leveraging Gilbane University training and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• 7–12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project at $100M+ value on commercial/industrial construction.
• Hyperscale Data Center experience is required.
• OSHA 30‑hour certification.
• STS‑C certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Directs day‑to‑day coordination of trade contractors and sub‑contractors to meet the approved project schedule.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the field work plan for changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Obtains or verifies permits for construction.
• Establishes credibility with owners, contractors, unions, and partners.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety compliance.
• Leads contractor meetings and maintains daily reports and schedules.
• Creates and updates the project schedule and contingency plans.
• Coordinates jobsite logistics and material scheduling.
• Trains direct reports on project needs and business acumen.
• Reviews scopes of work and participates in buyout; supports T&M tracking.
• Collaborates with business development to align with sales strategies and client deliverables.
