Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Arlington, VA is seeking an Electrical Controls Superintendent for data center projects. You will independently manage field operations on hyperscale data centers, directing trade contractors, overseeing safety, and maintaining project schedules on site every day.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, 7–12 years of experience in large-scale construction, and hyperscale data center expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 7–12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project for a value of $100 million or larger on commercial/industrial construction project(s) in a superintendent role.
• Hyperscale Data Center experience is required.
• OSHA 30-hour certified.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors to meet project schedule.
• Develops, documents, and communicates field work plans.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Ensures subcontractors obtain required construction permits.
• Establishes credibility with owners, unions, and partners.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety.
• Leads contractor meetings and maintains daily reports.
• Creates and updates the project schedule with contingencies.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics.
• Trains direct reports on project needs and processes.
• Supports buyout and time-and-material tracking.
