Job summary

Amazon's One MHS division is seeking a dynamic Manager, Electrical & Controls Engineering to lead the electrical power systems and controls engineering function for material handling projects. You will oversee design, development, and implementation of power distribution and control systems while leading a team of engineers to deliver safe, scalable, and high‑performing solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (required).
• 7+ years of industrial controls and automation experience, or Master's degree with engineering leadership experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams as a mentor or tech lead.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols (DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, SNMP).
• Strong knowledge of VFD selection, programming, and interface design.
• Proficiency with IPCs, PLC programming, and SCADA system design.
• Extensive experience with sensor technologies, encoders, safety circuits, and safety devices.
• Thorough understanding of NEC and its application to industrial installations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical and controls engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Set strategic direction for electrical and controls engineering aligned with OneMHS goals.
• Manage resource allocation and project workloads to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
• Conduct performance reviews and talent development planning for the team.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, design reviews, and quality gates.
• Drive process optimization, tool adoption, and knowledge management initiatives.
• Represent the function in leadership meetings and strategic planning.
