Job summary

Amazon’s One MHS division seeks a Power & Hardware Design Engineer to lead electrical power system design, distribution, and hardware development for large-scale material handling facilities. You will design MDBs, PDPs, substations, perform arc flash studies, and develop comprehensive A/E drawing packages.

You will collaborate with WWDE and cross-functional teams to standardize practices, improve safety, and drive system reliability across a global fulfillment network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in power systems design, electrical engineering, and hardware development.
• Proven expertise in 3-phase power system design and power distribution.
• Experience designing MDBs, PDPs, and electrical substations.
• Proficiency in arc flash calculations and hazard analysis per IEEE 1584/NFPA 70E.
• Strong skills in electrical load calculations and producing A/E drawing sets.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution for material handling.
• Specify MDBs, PDPs, substations, and ensure sizing, protection, and code compliance.
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and panel schedules for facilities.
• Perform load calculations, arc flash studies, and labeling programs.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust power and hardware solutions.
• Collaborate on standardization and documentation across projects.
