Job summary
Amazon is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer for One MHS in Austin, TX, to design, develop, and implement electrical power distribution and control systems for material handling projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, safe electrical solutions and ensure NEC compliance across installations.
The role requires deep expertise in electrical power design, controls engineering, and industrial communication protocols, with hands-on experience in PMCs,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field; 4+ years in industrial electrical and controls design.
- Deep knowledge of EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, and PROFINET protocols.
- Experience with NEC/NFPA 70 and safety devices; conduct in-field audits.
Responsibilities
- Design power and controls systems for material handling projects with 3-phase and single-phase distribution.
- Develop layouts, schematics, and panel standardization; ensure reliability and maintainability.
- Implement industrial networks and control architectures using IPCs, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Specify and integrate VFDs, sensors, encoders, safety devices; ensure compliance with safety standards.
