Job summary
Electrical Automation Services in Goodyear, AZ, seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to support high-speed beverage production. This on-site role covers on-shift PLC/HMI troubleshooting, keeping production safe and efficient, and driving reliability improvements across filling, packaging, and conveyance equipment.
You will mentor maintenance technicians, maintain backups and drawings, and participate in change control for upgrades and new installations.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in automation/engineering tech or related field.
- 4+ years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing.
- Proficient in PLC troubleshooting, HMIs, drives, and networking.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Strong communication across plant teams and willingness to work a 2-2-3 schedule.
Responsibilities
- Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert for production lines.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and motion-control issues.
- Diagnose problems, implement corrective actions, and improve throughput and reliability.
- Develop and execute controls projects; supervise backups and documentation.
- Lead training and mentorship for maintenance technicians and operators.
