Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Project Manager 1 to oversee small electrical construction projects or parts of larger efforts. You will coordinate schedules (Primavera CPM), manage budgets, and lead cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, and field staff.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics with 7+ years experience or 5+ years with a MS Engineering degree
• Proven track record supervising Construction Project Managers and performing PM duties on construction projects
• Experience in up-front project involvement with engineering firms, client, and general contractors
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; leadership and coaching abilities

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration, organization and execution of small electrical construction projects or parts of larger ones
• Develop a resource-loaded CPM schedule with time scale logic in Primavera
• Coordinate and run project kick-off meetings
• Forecast cash flow and manpower needs for projects
• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
• Maintain project budgets and cost codes; assign costs and manpower to the schedule
• Prepare submittals, pricing changes, and complete project estimates
• Meet with potential customers to present proposals
• Ensure safety regulations and inspections are followed
• Maintain profitability and timely completion including punch lists and as-builts
• Prepare monthly progress reports analyzing budget, schedule, cash flow and manpower forecasts
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and best practices
• Develop detailed equipment plans and coordinate major material procurement
