Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. seeks a Deputy Project Leader/Manager for its Electrical and Construction unit to oversee project lifecycles from initiation to close, including bidding and implementation phases.

The role involves problem solving, resource planning, and coordinating with leadership to deliver on schedule and budget. Responsibilities include creating baselines, developing schedules, managing vendors and internal resources, and ensuring quality documentation, safety, and compliance across diverse

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of electrical construction experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Working knowledge of a project management / scheduling system (MS Project or Primavera P6).
• Ability to create project schedules and schedule resources by hours.
• Ability to estimate project work and prepare customer proposals.
• Understanding of critical path analysis and resource data to identify issues.
• Experience communicating project and resource schedules, costs and budgets with leadership.
• Knowledge of procurement processes for technical goods/services.
• Ability to create technical documentation and design references.
• Strong communications and presentation skills; team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Performing administration, organization, and implementation of small electrical construction projects or parts of a larger project.
• Managing one or more phases of a project lifecycle including proposal, design, solutioning, installation, and close.
• Assisting with preparation of project documentation (requirements, manpower, layouts, schedules, equipment plans).
• Coordinating and assisting with or leading a project kickoff meeting.
• Developing a Work Breakdown Structure with baselined resources.
• Assisting with scheduling resources to maintain the baseline schedule.
• Creating baseline vs actual reporting of resources.
• Providing and executing site surveys, cost studies, forecasts, cost codes and progress reports.
• Assisting with data collection of progress for self-perform and contractor work.
• Observing and measuring scope and performance against plan.
• Developing and maintaining project artifacts including shop drawings.
• Assisting with procurement of major materials and equipment.
• Assisting with acquisition of permits and licenses and ensuring inspections.
• Estimating, scheduling, or conferring with estimators and schedulers to address issues.
• Reviewing the project schedule with General Contractor/Customer as requested.
• Managing data integration from multiple company systems to analyze progress.
• Ensuring timely punch-list completion, as-built drawings, manuals, and training materials.
• Identifying opportunities for cost-saving and quality improvements.
• Ensuring safety regulations are adhered to.
