Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Construction Technical Services Lead for a Corpus Christi, TX project, focusing on world-class data center construction. You will lead technical interpretations, liaise with multiple teams, and drive document control and change management to ensure project success.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical engineering or 15–20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities, with strong communication and drawing-reading skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or 15–20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial process facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• An understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to resolve in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and drawings, including input to change management.
• Engage in the permitting process with AHJs and design-build contractors.
• Lead the construction document management process and oversee a document control lead.
• Communicate with subcontractors to manage key drawings in revision-controlled formats.
• Respond to specification deviations within project-approved processes.
• Collaborate with Field Quality, contractor and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
