Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Construction Technical Services Lead for a Corpus Christi, TX project focused on data center construction. The role involves coordinating with home office engineering, outside firms, and client representatives, and ensuring technical accuracy of drawings and specs on site.

You’ll lead document control, support change management, and collaborate with subcontractors and design-build teams to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or 15–20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• Understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with home office engineering, external firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents, drawings, and specs; contribute to change management.
• Engage with AHJs during permitting processes.
• Collaborate with Design-Build contractors as their project moves to the field.
• Communicate with subcontractors to manage key drawings and documents in revision control.
• Lead construction document management and provide guidance through a document-control lead.
• Respond to specification deviation requests within approved processes.
• Coordinate with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the team.
