Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Construction Technical Services Lead to guide on-site interpretation of drawings, specifications, and documents for data center projects. You will coordinate with home office engineers, clients, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance and timely resolution of issues.

The role requires extensive experience in electrical engineering or heavy-industrial construction, strong communication, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; clarifying and expediting home office response to meet project needs.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support in interpretation of engineering released documents, specifications, and drawings, including input to change management.
• Engage in the permitting process with AHJs.
• Work with Design‑Build contractors as their work moves to the field.
• Lead the construction document management process and oversee a construction document control lead.
• Ensure effective communication with subcontractors for revision-controlled drawings and documents.
• Lead responses to contractor requests for specification deviations within approved processes.
• Coordinate with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
