Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Electrical Construction Technical Services Lead for a Corpus Christi, TX data center project. You will guide on-site technical activities, liaising with home office engineering, external firms, and client representatives while interpreting drawings and specifications.

The role emphasizes leadership, construction document control, and collaboration with subcontractors to ensure revision-controlled delivery and compliant work, while mentoring your team towards success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or 15–20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• Understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering released documents, specs, and drawings, including input to change management.
• Engage in the permitting process with AHJs.
• Coordinate with design-build contractors in the field.
• Communicate with subcontractors to manage drawings and documents in revision-controlled manner.
• Lead the construction document management process.
• Provide oversight and guidance through a construction document control lead.
• Respond to specification deviations within the project’s deviation process.
• Resolve nonconformities with field quality, contractor, and home office engineering.
• Lead and mentor your team toward objective outcomes.
