Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical BIM Designer to lead design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with the electrical discipline and project leads. You will work across disciplines to produce fully coordinated 3D models and 2D drawings, ensuring adherence to Jacobs and client BIM standards.

You will collaborate with designers, architects and engineers, using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD to deliver clash-free, constructible deliverables while growing your skills in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry
• Growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
• Experience following client design and modeling standards
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests
• Willingness to learn new things

Responsibilities

• Design documentation and the setup/management of Revit BIM models
• Coordinate with other discipline BIM leads and team members
• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L)
• Create 2D construction drawings
• Ensure outputs align with Jacobs and client BIM standards
• Work with designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers on Jacobs design team
• Contribute to clash-free models and constructible deliverables
