Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Electrical BIM Designer to design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline leads. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings across disciplines, ensuring alignment with Jacobs and client standards.

The role emphasizes Revit expertise, collaboration, and attention to detail within a hybrid, field-office setting across U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards shaping design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections between devices.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours for design and modeling based on markups or direction.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design documentation and manage Revit BIM models.
• Coordinate with discipline BIM leads and team members to produce fully coordinated 3D models.
• Create 2D construction drawings and clash-free content across disciplines.
• Work under direction of electrical leads to reflect design intent in deliverables.
