Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with discipline leads. You will create and manage 3D models across design disciplines and produce 2D construction drawings, using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD in line with Jacobs standards.

The role requires at least 3 years of BIM design experience and 3 years in electrical systems design, with knowledge of wiring, codes, and ability to estimate design hours.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• Growing understanding of codes and standards shaping design decisions.
• Understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or devices.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts from mark-ups/direction.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across design disciplines.
• Produce 2D construction drawings.
• Coordinate with other designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers.
• Adhere to Jacobs design methods and BIM standards.
• Turn design intent into constructable deliverables and clash-free models.
