Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Electrical BIM Designer to set up and manage Revit BIM models, coordinating with multi-discipline teams to produce constructible deliverables. You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, and ensure alignment with project standards. The role emphasizes attention to detail and collaboration within Jacobs’ electrical design team.

The position offers hybrid work options, with a base focus on Revit/AutoCAD design and ensuring accurate content for client deliverables.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
At least 3 years of electrical systems design and construction industry experience.
Growing understanding of codes and standards shaping design decisions.
Knowledge of design and construction specifications and their function.
Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections.
Experience following client design and modeling standards.
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to estimate hours for design and modeling efforts.
Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D BIM models across design disciplines.
Produce 2D construction drawings and PDFs for approvals.
Coordinate with discipline leads, architects and engineers on Jacobs design team.
Ensure clash-free models and compliance with Jacobs standards.
