Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CDL A within six months of appointment.
• Willingness to enroll in apprentice lineman training.
• Ability to climb poles and work around energized lines with safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction and maintenance of distribution lines; digs holes for poles and guy anchors; sets and frames poles.
• Strings and splices wire; installs service and meters; climbs poles.
• Operates line and bucket trucks; operates related equipment used by Electric Distribution Division.
• Participate in an apprentice lineman program and training courses; progress toward journey level designation.
• Respond to mandatory calls when a qualified crew is necessary; maintain confidentiality of administrative information.
