Job summary

OGE Energy Corporation is hiring a Distribution Lineman or Apprentice to install, operate, repair and maintain overhead and underground distribution systems to ensure reliable electric service. The role includes climbing, wiring, testing, and substation duties with a strong emphasis on safety and SOP adherence.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or GED with lineman experience or a technical degree/certification, and may participate in an apprentice program.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with lineman experience or journeyman cert.
• Technical degree or Power/Line related cert acceptable.
• DD Form 214 with utility line exp plus line work exp acceptable.
• Candidate must meet physical and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles, set poles, string wire and operate equipment safely.
• Perform substation duties and switching for feeder control.
• Operate test equipment with efficiency and accuracy.
• Construct and maintain distribution/transmission systems per SOPs.
• Investigate events of damaged cable and company facilities.
