Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a OHE Lineman B in a training role to assist Journeyman Lineman and Foreman. The position focuses on building and maintaining poles and power lines for transmission and distribution of electricity, while adhering to safe practices.

The role emphasizes learning from the Lineman team, performing related duties, and timely submission of apprentice documentation. Physical work in various weather conditions is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 2 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines.
• Provide technical skills for operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services for the consumer.
• Connect/disconnect, install/remove, move, and transfer electrical devices on customer facilities (transformers, regulators, switches, capacitor banks).
• Route or re-route power lines around existing lines and structures.
• Inspect and/or remove power lines that are damaged.
• Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and other pole-setting tasks.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Provide backup for Class A Apprentice Lineman and assist in completing duties.
• Submit Apprentice Program documentation on time.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment as needed.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
