Job summary

The City of Hamilton is offering an apprentice Lineman program under the Electric Distribution Division. Trainees will learn to construct and maintain distribution lines, operate line trucks, and climb poles under supervision, progressing toward journey level status.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and obtain a CDL A within six months. Training courses and safety practices are emphasized throughout the program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Possession of a valid CDL A Driver's License within six months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction and maintenance of distribution lines.
• Dig holes for poles and anchor bases; set and frame poles.
• Operate line and bucket trucks; climb poles and work with energized lines safely.
• Participate in apprentice training and complete required courses.
