Electra Grid Solutions is seeking a Distribution Apprentice A to assist experienced linemen in installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground power distribution systems. This entry‑level role provides hands‑on training and safe work practices under Journeymen supervision.

In Wisconsin, the apprentice will learn to read blueprints, work at heights, and follow PPE procedures while supporting the crew on various job sites, with travel as needed and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL required to be maintained while in position (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Must pass drug, alcohol, background, MVR, and clearinghouse checks upon hire and continuously while in position.
• Must pass a DOT physical examination.
• A basic understanding of electrical distribution systems is preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
• Must be safety-conscious and willing to follow all company safety protocols.
• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able and willing to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends.
• Able and willing to work in all types of weather, including inclement conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced linemen in installation, maintenance, and repair of power distribution systems.
• Learn to read blueprints and identify structural or equipment issues.
• Work safely on energized and de-energized lines.
• Assist in setting poles and anchors per safety specs.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.
• Climb wood and steel structures using proper equipment.
• Travel to various job sites as required.
