Job summary

CyberMaxx is seeking a Director of Platform Engineering to own the Elastic-based detection and log management platform underpinning our MDR service. You will align architecture with capacity planning, drive the migration to ECK, and lead a high-performance engineering team across multi-tenant environments.

This role balances hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight, ensuring platform reliability while enabling future scale.

Qualifications

10+ years in infrastructure/platform engineering or equivalent.
4+ years leading engineering teams.
Experience in MSSP/MDR environments is preferred.
Proven track record delivering platform migrations or consolidations.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end Elastic estate architecture, deployment model, topologies, and multi-tenant isolation.
Lead migration of remaining ECE-based estate to ECK.
Engage hands-on in design reviews, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Maintain capacity planning models and drive procurement to meet SLAs.
Chair Platform Engineering change control and represent department at CAB.
Own platform ingestion pipelines, data quality, and detection collaboration.
Plan Elastic version upgrades with minimal client disruption.
Escalation contact for Major Incident Management with RCA.
Lead and develop a team of platform engineers; manage hiring and performance.
