Job summary

CyberMaxx, Inc. is seeking a Director of Platform Engineering to own the Elastic-based detection and log management platform that underpins our MDR service.

This hands-on architect role balances ongoing operational stability with forward-looking scale and migration efforts. You will lead and develop a team of platform engineers, drive consolidation to a single operating model, and partner with Detection Engineering and Security Operations to ensure data quality and platform reliability across

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure/platform engineering with leadership.
• Experience owning a large-scale, multi-tenant data platform in production.
• Experience in MSSP/MDR environments where platform availability is contractually bound.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of the Elastic estate, deployment, topology, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Lead migration of the Elastic estate onto ECK with plan execution and no service disruption.
• Remain hands-on in design reviews, upgrade planning, and incident troubleshooting.
• Maintain capacity planning models, forecast ingest growth, and drive procurement for required capacity.
• Chair weekly platform engineering change control and coordinate with governance bodies.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of platform engineers; manage hiring and performance.
• Align platform constraints with product and commercial stakeholders.
• Manage Elastic licensing, vendor relations, and tooling evaluation.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and recovery procedures to reduce key-person risk.
