Job summary

GXO Logistics is hiring for a Manager I, EHS to oversee occupational safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives across U.S. and Canada operation sites.

You will lead regional EHS programs, audits and ESG reporting while coaching a team of EHS professionals to embed a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance across multiple locations. The role requires 5-7 years in EHS with supervisory experience, knowledge of hazardous waste rules, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years EHS experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of the supply chain and logistics industry
• Experience with hazardous and universal waste rules, stormwater, and permitting basics
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Basics of lean manufacturing
• Experience working with regulatory partners

Responsibilities

• Manage regional EHS programs and systems across locations
• Lead audits, KPI reporting, and ESG performance initiatives
• Coach and develop Site/Zone EHS professionals to meet performance objectives
• Ensure site processes and training cover hazardous materials handling and storage
• Embed regional sustainability initiatives aligned with GXO values
• Conduct EHS evaluations to improve risk controls and training
• Analyze injury reports and modify PPE programs as needed
• Oversee PPE purchasing and safety-related SOWs and forms
• Conduct safety audits at designated sites
• Provide onsite and remote safety training for leadership and site management
• Train site management on Intelex Risk Management system
• Support new site startups with required safety training
• Support environmental performance and compliance reporting at local/state/federal levels
• Develop EHS professionals to continue growth
• Use data to drive compliance and continuous improvement
• Communicate with leadership to build consensus on EHS initiatives
