Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking an experienced Health & Safety/Management Systems Manager to lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of H&S programs across assigned operations. You will train staff, perform risk assessments, and drive incident investigations to prevent reoccurrence.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Project Managers, site coordinators, and cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and DOT standards while maintaining safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in safety, chemistry, environmental science, or water resources.
• Coursework or degree with a business/management focus on management systems is a plus (ISO programs, Six Sigma).
• Working knowledge of EPA and OSHA, and DOT regulations and requirements.
• Course work in Management Systems (ISO) is a plus.
• Course work in supervisor/management is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience with Management Systems and/or Health & Safety programs.
• Experience in industrial environments managing health and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Monitors employee and facility safety, compliance with Management Systems and H&S rules.
• Develops a proactive zero-tolerance H&S culture with field staff and clients.
• Continuously evaluates Management Systems and H&S programs for value and improvement.
• Reviews accident histories and provides recommendations to reduce incidents.
• Provides updates to department heads on issues affecting safety and brand.
• Conducts training assessments and coordinates training under MS&H programs.
• Leads incident investigations and RCA to identify preventive actions.
• Participates in audits and inspections to address deficiencies and improvements.
• Works as a change agent across departments to drive improvements.
• Gathers data, prepares reports and presentations on safety metrics.
• Collaborates with EMS and quality programs for continuous improvement.
• Prepares annual financial plan for self and direct reports.
• Maintains safe operations and fiscal responsibility.
