Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to develop and implement the Division EHS strategy. The role reports to the Senior Director of EHS and will lead risk programs across the region with field presence and regular travel (50–70%).

Responsibilities include coaching site safety leaders, delivering training, conducting risk assessments, managing OSHA reporting, and supporting environmental and H&S compliance across projects and operations in Wantagh, NY

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, environmental engineering, or equivalent.
• 7-10 years of related experience in Environmental, Health & Safety and Security compliance.
• 5 years in water and wastewater or utility industries.
• Proven record of coaching and developing safety engagement and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS training, workshops, coaching and resources.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop EHS risk reduction plans.
• Mentor Site Safety Coordinators and Project Management.
• Lead Division EHS training programs and corporate initiatives.
• Support safety culture assessments and staff engagement.
• Support EHS leading indicators and behavioral safety implementations.
• Provide EHS due diligence for new business and project start-ups.
• Assist operations with environmental and H&S compliance.
• Coordinate industrial hygiene support for employee health.
• Monitor EHS data, review OSHA logs, and prepare reports.
• Assist in developing Project EHS budgets and goals.
