Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator at our Minnesota location to strengthen EHS programs and compliance. You will implement policies prioritizing worker safety and regulatory adherence while supporting ISO certifications and EMS initiatives.

The role involves coordinating training, tracking KPIs, and collaborating with the EHS team to ensure robust safety and environmental performance. Relocation or travel may be involved as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet schedules.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and be on-call as needed.
• Occasional travel required to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Support EHS program management, including updates, inspections, and permit applications.
• Assist with Process Safety Management and site security requirements for ammonia systems.
• Collect and track EHS KPIs, review incident investigations and exposure surveys.
• Support ISO 14001/45001 programs and EMS/SIPS documentation control.
• Provide training on OSHA and environmental permits; ensure compliance with permits.
