Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a software engineer for the Egress team to own distributed systems across a global network. You will design, build, and deploy network-enabled services, collaborating with multiple engineering groups to translate requirements into scalable capabilities.

The role emphasizes Go or Rust, Linux networking, and modern tech like Kubernetes, ClickHouse, and PostgreSQL, with on-call responsibilities and a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software engineering, with distributed systems ownership.
• Proficient in Go or Rust and eager to improve in both.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and HTTP/TLS.

Responsibilities

• Make progress on engineering tasks: design systems, write specs, code, and release plans.
• Participate in daily and ad-hoc team meetings to share progress.
• Be part of on-call rotation to ensure uptime of production systems.
• Investigate customer issues escalated to the Egress team and provide resolutions.
• Answer questions from internal teams in the Egress chat room.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to analyze code, production systems, and data.
