Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Software Engineer for the Egress team in Austin, TX to own and evolve network-focused infrastructure powering products like WARP and iCloud Private Relay. You’ll work with Go and Rust across Linux networking, databases, and monitoring tools, collaborating with multiple engineering teams to design, deploy, and operate scalable services.

You will participate in the full software lifecycle, ship code, and contribute to on-call rotations, with a culture that values curiosity,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including owning end-to-end architecture of complex systems.
• Proficiency in Go or Rust and a desire to improve in both.
• Solid grasp of networking protocols (OSI Layers 3-4).
• Experience/interest in HTTP networking and VPN technologies.
• Experience building and debugging distributed, highly available systems.

Responsibilities

• Make daily progress on engineering tasks: design systems, write specs, push code, and roll out releases.
• Participate in daily/ad-hoc team meetings to share progress and collaborate.
• Join on-call rotations to ensure uptime of production systems.
• Investigate customer issues escalated to the Egress team for triage and resolution.
• Engage with multiple teams to gather requirements and extend platform capabilities.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to analyze codebases and production data.
