Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks an Engineering Manager for the Egress team, overseeing a distributed group developing connectivity for a broad product portfolio. You will guide architecture, mentor engineers, and align roadmaps with product goals.

You will own production reliability, manage on-call processes, and partner cross-functionally to deliver scalable network software across the company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an Engineering Manager for software/systems teams.
• Track record in hiring, onboarding, and developing engineers.
• Strong planning and execution to meet commitments.
• Experience with Layer 3/4 networking concepts.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and debugging distributed systems.
• Ability to lead on-call rotations and customer incident support.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and coach a distributed software team.
• Collaborate with product managers and leaders to align roadmaps.
• Assess tradeoffs across the networked system and influence scope.
• Drive design decisions and empower engineers to own delivery.
• Oversee on-call rotations and incident response for production services.
• Improve platform reliability and automation across the stack.
