Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. The role focuses on transferring, spreading, loading, and compacting waste or soil with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include inspections, monitoring waste quality, performing minor maintenance, reporting conditions, and maintaining a clean work area, while adhering to safety policies and company guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer service and professional conduct toward customers and co-workers.
• Good time management to complete responsibilities safely and efficiently.
• Adherence to company safety standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor service and document it; report repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Follow safety policies and keep shop clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
