Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, performing loading, spreading, covering and compacting waste or soil while following safety standards.

Responsibilities include inspections, performing minor service, maintaining equipment, completing reports, adhering to schedules, keeping shop clean, and assisting with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera are clean.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment using proper safety standards.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials.
• Maintain equipment to minimize downtime and perform minor servicing.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and keep the shop clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
