Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil in a efficient and safe manner.

Responsibilities include inspections, monitoring for unacceptable waste, performing minor maintenance, documenting reports, and maintaining a clean work area. A strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment per policy.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Perform minor service and report more complex repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs.
• Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
