Job summary

Gainesville City Schools seeks a Technology Technician to perform skilled repair and maintenance of all technology-related equipment and provide technical support for district systems. You will assist users with hardware setup, troubleshooting, and software installation.

Under the Director of Technology Services and Infrastructure, you will contribute to inventory management, participate in evaluating software/hardware, and maintain documentation of work performed using enterprise ticketing

Qualifications

Associate's degree (or two years of college) in a technology field.
Bachelor's degree in a technology field preferred.
A+ Certification preferred.
Experience with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN networking.
Experience with a variety of software and operating systems.
Strong written and oral communication.
Organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

Install district-standard hardware, software, peripheral and non-computer equipment, and technology upgrades.
Troubleshoot and repair or replace client hardware.
Maintain accurate reporting of work performed using an enterprise ticketing system.
Identify architectural and design issues related to technology.
Research and evaluate software and hardware per parameters.
Develop new specifications for computers, software, and peripherals.
Maintain inventory database of hardware and software.
Utilize imaging tech for Windows and Mac OS.
