Job summary

Gainesville City Schools is seeking a Maintenance HVAC Technician for the 2026-2027 school year. Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance & Operations, the technician diagnoses HVAC problems, performs preventive maintenance, and ensures reliable operation of heating and cooling systems district-wide.

Responsibilities include documenting service activities, installing equipment, monitoring building control systems, and aiding safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two (2) years' relevant experience or Technical School equivalent.
• Valid Georgia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses HVAC problems and identifies repair/replacement needs.
• Performs and documents preventive maintenance schedules for district HVAC units.
• Inspects district HVAC units including temperature readings and overall condition.
• Installs and upgrades heating and air conditioning equipment and systems.
• Maintains and monitors building control systems and related components.
• Responds to emergency situations after hours when required.
• Performs routine maintenance to ensure continued HVAC operation.
